Aratoi, Wairapa Museum of Art and History, 2022

This collection is a personal exploration of land that draws on visual experience, childhood memories and my ongoing contact with the land through work and leisure.  Illustrating this concept with a fibre that is grown all around me - wool, is an important element of this collection.

Land girl is about connection. Connection to land but also to heritage, to myself, to family, to experience and memories. Through the process of creating this work I've come to understand how important these are to me. My hope to any viewer is that they form their own connections to the work and the subject matter and maybe it brings them joy.
